Traveling? On the go? Or just want to be more conscious and mindful of having healthy choices to grab and go? You’re in the right place πŸ˜‰ I talk a lot about the importance of meal prep, mindful eating, and especially snacks! Because let’s face it, food is a huge part of life, and when we are running around all day, it’s best to be prepared with some healthy choices! I prefer to make snacks ahead such as – sliced apples, raw almonds, raw seeds, homemade trail mix, etc… But when I am traveling or need to stop and pick things up fast, I have a few tried and true faves πŸ˜‰ Whole, real foods for snacks are what we got going on here, so go ahead, check them out and get ready to add on some delicious items to your next grocery trip πŸ˜‰Β  Reviews of some of my faves here:

Brown Rice Snaps: Ok so I go wayyy back with these guys! Edward & Sons is the brand- they are fantastic and I have childhood memories of my mom carrying these around as snacks for us. What’s so cool aboutΒ  them is that they are originally a Japanese type of snack, and Edward & Sons bake them according to a traditional recipe. My personal fave are the Black Sesame ones, they are made with all natural, organic, pronounceable ingredients! They are also gluten free and just so satisfying! Be careful with these… you may quickly become addicted!

Raw Almonds: These are pretty much the magic snack, topping, salad ingredient, etc… One of my absolute favorite grab and go snacks is a handful of raw (RAW- not roasted!!) almonds. Raw almonds are high in that good good fat (monounsaturated), which helps to regulate your blood sugar and prevent heart disease and diabetes. Do you know that eating raw nuts (with skins!) actually helps you lose weight?? They are filling, and pump your body with good stuff, what more could you need? πŸ˜‰

Justin’s Peanut & Almond Butter to go’s: Saluting my beautiful Boulder!! Justin’s is basically 2-4 ingredients, delicious on their own as a filling snack to hold you until the next meal, or with celery sticks, apples, or rice crackers πŸ˜‰ These are some of my favorite, because they really are so filling and so yummy!

Matt’s Munchies: Addictive. Simple whole ingredients. Mango is bomb. Need I say more?? Nature’s fruit snacks! These are amazing snacks, organic fruit puree is their only ingredient (unless you get a coconut one- then you have coconut flakes in addition), tasty, and just plain awesome!

Squarebar: Ummmm just a LITTLE OBSESSED with these!! Squarebars are all natural, DELICIOUS, gluten free, organic ingredients that you can read and understand! Super tasty (chocolate almond spice is my jam!!!) with 12g of protein and 15% DV of iron – these bars were pretty much made for me πŸ˜‰

Larabar: Another Boulder FAV:) These guys have been at the top of my snack list for years for the number one reason that I believe these guys helped pioneer the 1-3 ingredient snack bar! Simply dates, nuts and other fruit. TOP flavors are cashew cookie, peanut butter cookie, and peanut butter chocolate chip πŸ˜‰ I want to know what I’m putting into my body, and that it is simple, whole, ingredients. Larabar was the first bar to do this for me πŸ™‚

Rx Bar: Ooooo how delish are these! My fav are the chocolate & sea salt flavors πŸ˜‰ They list all their ingredients clearly and theyΒ basically include dates, egg whites, nuts and a couple other simple ingredients which vary according to flavor. You know what you’re getting! Which I love about them πŸ™‚ They are tasty and very filling! Love these!!

Chia Bar: Health warrior!! These bars are simple, rich in omega-3, fiber, and protein! They are also small enough to fit into just about any pocket, wallet, or purse! Coconut and Acai Berry flavors shown here, yummm can’t beat a chia product!
*Sourced: Whole foods

Go Raw Spirulina Bites: Powerful ingredients! Green, banana, raw/alive… good for you annnnd of course delish!! The bites are my fave because they are like little treats!
*Sourced: Whole Foods

Fruit Strips: Simply pureed and dried fruit (can you see a theme with this?) Natural fruit snacks, vitamin C and just plain goodness!
*Sourced: 365 whole foods brand, or trader joes

Kind Bars: These are like healthy candy bars to me πŸ™‚ Gluten free, lots of nuts and chocolate, what more could I ask for?Β  Favorites: dark chcolate nuts & sea salt, dark chcolate cinnamon pecan, peanut butter dark chocolate… pretty much any of the chocolate ones πŸ˜‰
*Sourced: Whole foods, trader joes, pretty much all grocery stores!
