Homemade oat milk!

Always looking for non-dairy alternatives, I came across a recipe recently that called for oat milk. I have never heard of it, did some research and found that it is actually quite popular in cafes in certain parts of Europe- I was intrigued! I decided to do some experimentation of my own, so I got a cheesecloth, my Trader Joe’s quick cook steel cut oats (a winter favorite of mine), and got to milk making!

So for this recipe:
1. Pour 1 cup quick cook steel cut oats and 3.5 cups of water into a large jar or a sealed container.

2. Let it sit overnight

3. Pour the mixture into a blender
4. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth and voila – Oat milk!

As well as overnight oats which are ready to go, just add your favorite topping- raisins, cinnamon, coconut, berries, maple syrup, etc.
